Pace recently delivers and installs its 50th robot!

Pace Mechanical Handling Ltd recently delivers and installs its 50th robot in 2½ years to Porchester Farms, The Highclere Estate, Newbury, Berks. This reconditioned palletizing robot will help the staff stack quality horse feed bags onto one ton pallets.  The installation was completed in just one day, with a further two days setting up and training.

Mr. James Phillips, Manager of Porchester Farms and Highclere Castle Horse Feeds, said that the purchase of the reconditioned robot would reduce handling and increase throughput.  Already, on some products, we have seen a doubling of output, and the operator does not have to lift a single bag, which is a great Health and Safety benefit. The robot has a safety system which includes light guards and a 2mt high steel fence. The robot itself has very few moving parts compared to other types of palletizers, which will make it less time consuming when it comes round to the yearly service.

We had several quotations for new equipment for this project, and after careful consideration, we decided to purchase the reconditioned robot from Pace Mechanical. The quality of the ABB Robot has not been compromised by its age, in fact it’s a green way of recycling machinery, all the ancillary equipment like the gripper, pickup conveyor, elevator and roller press were manufactured to a very high standard by Pace Mechanical Handling. A larger roller mill currently being installed at our plant, will give a further increase in bagging rate to make the robot really earn its keep. The engineers from Pace installed the robot with efficiency and zeal and with a no rush training schedule, made the robot a very user friendly machine for all our operators.  I would recommend Pace Mechanical Handling Ltd to anyone looking for a Robot Palletizer.
